We’re looking for an Allocation Analyst to join the team.

The Allocation Analyst will support Chubbies by managing inventory distribution and allocations to ensure the right products are delivered to the right stores at the right time. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze sales trends, optimize stock levels, and troubleshoot inventory discrepancies. The role also includes maintaining accurate allocation records, improving inventory efficiency, and ensuring alignment with company strategies and retail goals. The Allocation Analyst will play a key role in driving success and supporting the overall customer experience at Chubbies.

This role requires you live in the Austin, TX metro area and work in the office 3 days a week. We are not open to remote candidates.

Duties and responsibilities

Inventory Allocation and Management:

• Analyze sales data, inventory levels, and store performance to determine optimal product allocations, ensuring the right product assortment is available across retail locations.
• Identifies opportunities to improve allocation processes and ensures any new implementations are documented and effectively communicated.
• Monitor and adjust allocations based on store performance, promotions, and seasonal trends.
• Understands and executes regional or store specific inventory strategies for specialty products.
• Collaborates with the planning and buying teams to align allocation strategies with broader business goals inclusive of, but not limited to, seasonal events and promotions
• Executes monthly BOP inventory cycle counts for retail locations

Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Generate and interpret reports on inventory levels, stock performance, and sell-through rates.
• Identify trends and provide actionable insights to improve inventory efficiency and reduce stockouts or overstocking.
• Develop tools or dashboards to track allocation effectiveness and store performance.
• Delivers a seasonal hindsight inclusive of size curve performance to Inventory Management leads to inform future buys

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with logistics, planning, and buying teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
• Communicate allocation plans and updates to store managers and retail teams.
• Collaborate with the sourcing and production teams to anticipate product arrival and manage inventory transitions.
• Partners directly with Supply Chain and Retail Operations on inventory fulfilment on inbound inventory for each store location, inclusive of off price and full price locations
• Works alongside Retail Operations and Inventory Managers to pass guidance on store-to-store transfers to optimize in market inventory to reduce markdowns and maximize gross margin
• Participates in demand planning discussions and provides input on inventory distribution goals

Problem Solving and Troubleshooting:

• Address inventory discrepancies or imbalances across retail locations.
• Develop solutions for inventory shortages or surpluses, including transfers between locations or adjustments to future allocations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to shipment delays, damaged goods, or unexpected demand shifts.

Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
• 3+ Years Retail Allocation Experience: Prior experience in merchandise planning, allocation, or inventory management preferred.
• Technical Skills: Advanced in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.), retail systems, and allocation software (e.g., JDA, SAP, or similar tools).
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot allocation challenges and implement effective solutions.
• Detail-Oriented: High level of accuracy in managing data and producing reports.
• Time Management: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Adaptability: Comfort in navigating changes in allocation strategy or inventory demands.
• Team Collaboration: Experience working with teams across planning, merchandising, and store operations.
• Business Acumen: Understanding of retail KPIs, including sell-through, weeks of supply, and inventory turnover.
• Data Visualization: Familiarity with reporting tools or BI software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
• Excels in fast-paced rapidly changing environment
• Excellent with written and oral communication that can deliver in a detail-oriented format
• Experience in Apparel Retail is preferred but required
• Highly proficient in retail math and inventory management principles
